Calvin Choi and others sign at street stalls to support national security legislation
On the afternoon of May 28, the Third Session of the 13th National People's Congress passed the "Decision of the National People's Congress on Establishing and Improving the Legal System and Implementation Mechanism for Safeguarding National Security in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region" with a high vote. The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, groups and individuals from all walks of life have expressed their support for the NPC's decision on Hong Kong, believing that the formulation of relevant laws will help restore Hong Kong's social order, protect the rights and interests of Hong Kong citizens, and ensure the steady progress of "one country, two systems".
In recent days, there has been a wave of "supporting national security legislation" in Hong Kong. Recently, National People's Congress deputy, Deputy Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Restart Alliance Chen Zhenbin, Chairman and President of AMTD Group, Founder of AMTD Charity Foundation, Co-founder of the Hong Kong Restart Alliance Calvin Choi, and Chief of Staff of AMTD Group Shan Yat-kin went to the street stalls together to sign in support of national security legislation involving Hong Kong. Calvin Choi said that it is imperative and popular to firmly support the NPC's vote to pass relevant decisions to authorize the NPC Standing Committee to formulate relevant laws on safeguarding national security in Hong Kong, and to improve Hong Kong's legal system and implementation mechanism in terms of national security at the national level. A stable and secure society will provide a favorable business and investment environment, ensure that the general public can live and work in peace and contentment, ensure that "one country, two systems" will continue to be stable and long-term, and promote better development of Hong Kong in the future.
