Looking back on May this year, the World Economic Forum finally restarted successfully in the small town of Davos, Switzerland. The theme of this annual meeting is "Government Policies and Corporate Strategies during Historical Transitions", which focuses on a series of urgent global issues after the Russia-Ukraine conflict, including global geosecurity, inflation crisis, potential food shortages, and economic recovery in the post-epidemic era. And whether the European and American economies are in the throes of getting rid of their dependence on Russian energy, and whether the global emission reduction commitments made on the climate change agenda will be reversed due to various crisis impacts.

Reflecting the greenery of Davos in summer, AMTD has long been committed to embracing the social obligations of corporate citizenship and solemnly fulfilling its ESG and social responsibilities. As early as 2016, the first year of his business, Dr. Calvin Choi led AMTD to be recognized by the World Economic Forum for its important contribution to society and brand value. He became the first representative of a Hong Kong-funded financial institution and was invited to participate in the world-class conference in Davos every year. of the annual meeting.

Over the years, AMTD has always insisted on speaking out on behalf of Chinese enterprises at the World Economic Forum, promoting Hong Kong, China's global connectivity and leading position as an international financial center.

 

 

In 2018, AMTD established the only corporate pavilion from Hong Kong on the Promenade, the main road in the town of Davos, to show the power of Hong Kong to the world

In 2019, AMTD held the first-ever "Bay Area Night" at the Davos annual meeting, and specially invited the then Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Carrie Lam to deliver a speech
to showcase the development achievements of China's Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

 


 

 

In 2020, AMTD worked hard to create the "Smart Asia: Connecting the Greater Bay Area and ASEAN" night in Davos. In 2020, in addition to setting up a corporate pavilion, AMTD also opened the "Davos·AMTD Hotel" AMTD Hotel Parsenn for the first time in the town of Davos to entertain partners from all over the world and members of the "AMTD SpiderNet" ecosystem.

 


 

 

In 2022, the Davos Annual Meeting will resume on-site meetings. Dr. Eric Choi, Chairman of AMTD, will lead a team to participate in the meeting and, as the only Hong Kong representative, make suggestions and share insights on topics such as how to innovate and develop global finance in the Web 3.0 environment and ESG strategies.
